Matthew is responsible for the operational and financial performance of Skyline Apartment REIT’s real estate portfolio comprising tens of thousands of multi-residential suites across Canada. He oversees all aspects of the portfolio including acquisitions and dispositions, financial budgeting, and implementing and monitoring capital expenditure projects.

Matthew joined Skyline in 2006 as the Director of Operations for Skyline Management Inc. (now Skyline Living), a multi-residential property management company, bringing 15 years of experience in real estate operations.

Similar to Skyline’s Co-Founders, Matthew had extensive hands-on experience in property management, having operated student rental housing in Guelph, ON in the 1990s. Applying a practical approach to apartment management, Matthew was a notable asset to Skyline’s operations and made the transition to President, Skyline Apartment REIT in 2016.

Matthew’s working experience in property management and proprietary operational processes have driven the profitability and successful performance of Skyline Apartment REIT. His attention to operational efficiency, sustainability, and innovation has been critical in designating Skyline Apartment REIT’s properties as accommodations of choice for Canadian renters, and in making Skyline one of the largest owners and managers of multi-residential property in the country.

As a key member of the management team of one of the fastest-growing REITs in Canada, Matthew plays a critical role in ensuring that Skyline remains an industry leader in property management and tenant acquisition and retention strategy.
