Moving to a new country is an extremely emotional journey - newcomers to Canada may be dealing with separation from loved ones, homesickness, or the toll of fleeing an oppressive or war-torn homeland.

To make things more complicated, there are also many practical concerns for newcomers to Canada, such as how to learn the language, find a job, and secure housing.

To assist with negotiating the complex housing market, the Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation (CMHC) has compiled a guide specifically for newcomers to Canada. The guide covers buying a home, applying for and negotiating mortgages and financing, and renting apartments. It is available in 8 languages: English, French, Arabic, Chinese. Spanish, Punjabi, Tagalog/Filipino, and Urdu.

If you are new to Canada, planning to come to Canada soon, or know someone who would benefit, we highly recommend this guide!
